Since 1982, Asha Securities has evolved alongside the growth of the Sri Lanka stock market, establishing itself as a trusted stock broker in Sri Lanka and longstanding CSE broker. What began as Mercantile Stock Brokers has developed through decades of transformation into one of the country’s most established names in stock market investment in Sri Lanka, consistently expanding access to investing across generations.
A key milestone in our journey was strengthening international ties through a strategic alliance with Phillip Securities of Singapore, enhancing our ability to serve both local and overseas investors seeking Sri Lanka investment opportunities. 1982
Foundation
Incorporated as Mercantile Stock Brokers Ltd, subsidiary of Mercantile Credit Ltd. (MCL) under the Companies Act No. 17 of 1982.
1992
Allied Stock Brokers
Company renamed to Allied Stock Brokers and expanded with a new branch in Matara, extending our reach across Sri Lanka.
1993
SINGAPORE ALLIANCE
Strategic alliance formed with Phillip Securities of Singapore, following the global trend of international brokerage partnerships.
1994
ALLIED PHILLIP SECURITIES
The company was renamed as Allied Phillip Securities Ltd, following the deepened Singapore partnership.
1998
MMBL PHILIP SECURITIES
Mercantile Merchant Bank acquired majority stake. The company was renamed MMBL Philip Securities Ltd.
2003
ASHA SECURITIES BORN
Mr. M. M. Udeshi acquired 59.22% from Mercantile Merchant Bank. The firm was rebranded as Asha Securities Ltd.
